Vs. 16 - this letter is written to believers.

Vs. 18 - He gave us birth by His Word. “We are born of water” (John 3:5). 1 Peter 1:23 Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.

Vs. 21 - Our souls need saved. What is the soul - the seat of the mind, will and emotions.

He restores my soul

Ps 23:1-3 (KJV)

  • Ps. 22 is prophetic of the life of Jesus.
  • Ps. 23 is prophetic of Jesus being our Shepherd today. Jesus said, “I am the good shepherd.

  • Ps. 24 is prophetic of Jesus as the soon coming King of Kings.

  • Restore - recover, renew, reverse.

  • This word has the same meaning as the word “renewing” in Rom. 12:1-2 talking about the mind.

* Transformed - (Greek) Metamorphoo - to transform, to change into another form.
* Same word used as when Jesus was “transfigured” before his disciples on the
mount of transfiguration.
* How are we transformed? By the renewing of our minds.
* Renewing - renovation, restore.
* Our minds need to be renovated. They need to be restored. Our souls are not saved, not restored, not renovated yet. They need to be by the Word of God.
