“The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel” - which means, ‘God with us.’” (Matthew 1:23 NIV84)
Four implications of “God with us” …
I. “God with us” means… God is
Colossians 1:15-16 (LB) “Jesus Christ is the exact likeness of the unseen God. He existed before God made anything at all, and in fact, Christ Himself is the Creator who made everything…”
II. “God with us” means… God is
John 17:3 (NIV84) ”And this is the way to have eternal life-to know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, the one you sent to earth”
III. “God with us” means… God is
John 6:37b (NIV84) “…whoever comes to me I will never drive away.”
IV. “God with us” means… God is
A. God came as a
Luke 2:16 (NIV84) “So they hurried off and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby, who was lying in the manger.”
Philippians. 2:7 (Amp) “He became like men and was born a human being.”
B. This baby became a man, and …
John 3:16 (NIV84) “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”
