Missions Weekend
June 24, 2023

Main Point: We are called to care for the least of these.

For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me.’ Then the righteous will answer him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink? And when did we see you as a stranger and welcome you, or naked and clothe you? And when did we see you sick or in prison and visit you?’ And the King will answer them, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers,[a] you did it to me.’ —Matthew 25:35-40

“At the end of life we will not be judged by how many diplomas we have received, or how much money we have made, or how many great things we have done. We will be judged by, “I was naked and you clothed me. I was homeless, and you took me in.”
~Mother Teresa~

Takeaway: Being a Christian means walking in the footsteps of Jesus. Are you?

Discussion Questions:
• What steps are you already taking to follow in the footsteps of Jesus?
• Looking at the scripture reference of Matthew 25, is there a group of people you tend to avoid serving? Why?
• What steps are you going to take to further your walk with God?

Table Discussion Question - Where do you feel led to serve? Rwanda? The United States? New York? Batavia? Your own family? Tell a pastor this week where you plan to serve Jesus so that we can pray for you!
