
Blessed are the Pure in Heart
Matthew 5:8 - Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God.
Luke 8:9 - 14 9 Then Jesus told this story to some who had great confidence in their own righteousness and scorned everyone else: 10 “Two men went to the Temple to pray. One was a Pharisee, and the other was a despised tax collector. 11 The Pharisee stood by himself and prayed this prayer[a]: ‘I thank you, God, that I am not like other people—cheaters, sinners, adulterers. I’m certainly not like that tax collector! 12 I fast twice a week, and I give you a tenth of my income.’
What is purity of heart?
1. Heart that is undivided
2. Heart that is made clean
Undivided: When their heart is single whole and undivided.
Matthew 6:22: The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light..
The light of the body eye single focused on one direction. Wholeness and Health. Idea of going after one thing.
Restatement: Purity of Heart. To will one thing. Lord I’m going to take my heart (Myself, Others, Money, Career) and I’m going to pursue you. Blessed is the person that will’s one thing. To make to Joy to the Lord.
The opposite of a pure heart would be a divided heart.
1 Kings 18: 21 - Elijah went before the people and said, “How long will you waver between two opinions? If the Lord is God, follow him; but if Baal “The Lord of the Earth” is God, follow him.”
James 4:8 - Come near to God and he will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded.
Philippians 3: 12-14 - 12 Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already arrived at my goal, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me. 13 Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, 14 I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.

Blessing of a clean heart.
1 John 1:9. “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”
Titus 3:4-5 4 But when the kindness and love of God our Savior appeared, 5 he saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit,
Matthew 1:21

Things we can do.
- Believe.
