*The first step in protecting yourself from depression is to enter into a relationship with God through faith in Jesus.
*If you are feeling depressed, angry, or hopeless, then recognize it for what it is: prideful idolatry of the self. Confess and repent recognizing there is only one person, Jesus himself, who can sit on the throne of our lives.
*Seek help from others when you are struggling to get your mind focused on God’s truth.
*Act by directing the mind and will to move the body into action in service of God — fulfilling your God given ministry.

When you are depressed, angry, or hopeless, do you tend to lash out like Jonah or ask God to “test your thoughts” like Jeremiah does in Jer. 12:3?
