DQ: The Only Thing That Counts - Pt. 2
September 27, 2020

OPEN: Think of a repair or kitchen task that you have done recently. What was the most important thing that you needed in order for it to get done? What made you pick that as the most important?

READ: Galatians 5:6 Hosea 1:2-8, 2:5-6, 3:1, Romans 5:8, I John 3:16, 4:16,

WATCH SERMON

DISCUSS
1. Discuss the different ways in which the story of Hosea and Gomer points to the greatest story ever told, that of God’s love for you. Which aspect of the story “touches” you the most and why?
2. Read Romans 5:8 together. Dissect and discuss the phrases and ideas in this verse using points made in the sermon. How are you personally impacted by this verse?
3. Discuss what it means to you to say that your faith is fueled by something…whether it is being right, anger, fear, politics, or something else. Practically, what would it look like to have a faith fueled by love?
4. What would you say fuels your faith and how does it show the world the heart of God?
5. We live in a world of broken covenants between nations, with people groups and in personal relationships. These bring about anger, hurt, revenge and divisions. How can you be a person who demonstrates what it looks like to keep a covenant and thus speak for God in a difficult situation?
6. What do you think it means when Pastor Robert says, “We need to fall in love with love again?” Very practically speaking, how might you look, respond and speak differently a week from today if you did fall in love with love again? (47:28-49:38)

PRAYER
Spend time thanking God for the different ways He has shown unconditional love for you. Thank Him very specifically for the ways in which He has provided opportunities for you to put His heart on display for the world.
