Proverbs 13:25-14:10, Luke 21-24, Psalm 90-99, Judges 1-9

  • The Book of Judges: “ _ avail us nothing.” -Bill. Wilson

Judges 2:10-11 After that generation died, another generation grew up who did not acknowledge the Lord or remember the mighty things He had done for Israel. The Israelites did evil in the Lord’s sight and served the images of Baal.

Judges 2:12 They abandoned the Lord, the God of their ancestors, who had brought them out of Egypt. They went after other gods, worshiping the gods of the people around them.

Judges 2:2 For your part, you were not to make any covenants with the people living in this land; instead, you were to destroy their altars. But you disobeyed My command. Why did you do this?

Judges 1:34-35 As for the tribe of Dan, the Amorites forced them back into the hill country and would not let them come down into the plains. The Amorites were determined to stay in Mount Heres, Aijalon, and Shaalbim, but when the descendants of Joseph became stronger, they forced the Amorites to work as slaves.

Joshua 1:2-3 cross the Jordan River into the land I am about to give to the Israelites. I will give you every place where you set your foot, as I promised Moses.

Judges 2:3 “So now I declare that I will no longer drive out the people living in your land. They will be thorns in your sides, and their gods will be a constant temptation to you.”

Judges 1:19,21 & 27 The Lord was with the people of Judah, and they took possession of the hill country. But they failed to drive out the people living in the plains, who had iron chariots. The tribe of Benjamin, however, failed to drive out the Jebusites… The tribe of Manasseh failed to drive out the people…

Luke 22:34, 39-40 But Jesus said, “Peter, let Me tell you something. Before the rooster crows tomorrow morning, you will deny three times that you even know Me.” Then, accompanied by the disciples, Jesus left the upstairs room and went as usual to the Mount of Olives. There He told them, “Pray that you will not give in to temptation.”

Luke 22:45 At last He stood up again and returned to the disciples, only to find them asleep…

Proverbs 14:8 The prudent understand where they are going, but fools deceive themselves.

Psalm 94:7-8,11 “The Lord isn’t looking,” they say, “and besides, the God of Israel doesn’t care.” Think again, you fools! When will you finally catch on? The Lord knows people’s thoughts; He knows they are worthless!

Psalm 94:12 Joyful are those You discipline, Lord, those You teach with Your instructions.
