  1. Review the 5 ways that the phrase “kingdom of God” is used in the Bible. Which one of these kingdoms are we in right now and how does that influence the way that we look at politics?
  2. Read 1 Chronicles 29:1-10 and tell the group what it says about the kingdom of God. How does it encourage us to know that God “rules over all” and has a universal kingdom? How is it especially encouraging to us at a crazy time like this?
  3. What does Jesus mean in John 3:3 when He tells Nicodemus that “unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God?” What is the spiritual kingdom that He is referring to here and why is it so important?
  4. Define the term “theocracy” and explain how God gave a theocratic kingdom to Israel. Why it is a mistake to believe that this is what we are in right now? Why is it dangerous to do so?
  5. What is the significance of the millennial and the eternal kingdom? Why do we need to be remined that this world is not our home but there is something better to come? How does it shake us out of our apathy and change the way that we look at the government today?
