Who is Jesus? - Friend of Sinner Study Notes
April 28, 2019

MY STORY
Are you most likely to finish your taxes as soon as you receive your W-2s or as close to April 15th as possible? Have you ever had to file an extension?

Have you ever had to make up an excuse to turn down a dinner invitation? Why didn’t you want to go? Have you ever had second thoughts about your decision?

QUICK REVIEW
Looking back on your notes from this week’s message, was there anything you heard for the first time or that caught your attention, challenged or confused you?

DIGGING DEEPER
READ John 9:1-7
We’ve probably all looked on someone who is sick, hurting, or devastated by a poor choice and thought to ourselves, “They got what they deserved.” This passage deals with another healing that Jesus performed on a man born blind, that Jesus was very clear wasn’t the result of anyone’s sin. Rather it was an opportunity for the glory of God to be seen. How can we look past the “why” of someone’s distress and focus on the actions that we will take to help meet their need?

READ Luke 6:32-36
Do you ever have difficulty loving, or even associating with, people who aren’t living a moral or Christ-like life? What makes that so hard? What kind of fears come with loving the undesirable?

TAKING IT HOME
READ Mark 2:15-17
What needs to change about the way that you think, act, or feel – that would make you a safe place for sin-sick people to come and be lead to spiritual healing in Jesus?
