Good things can become bad things when they “

“Everything is permissible for me” – but not everything is beneficial. “Everything is permissible for me” – but I will not be mastered by anything. (1 Cor. 6:12)
Dependency limp: clinging to something that interferes with
and
– “Those who cling to worthless idols forfeit the grace that could be theirs.” (Jonah 2:8)
• The principle of
: my limp has a dependency upon
– “They are darkened in their understanding and separated from the life of God…they have given themselves over to sensuality so as to indulge in every kind of impurity, with a continual lust for more.” (Eph. 4:18-19)
• The principle of

need – “…he makes a god, his idol; he bows down to it and worships. He prays to it and says, “Save me; you are my god.” (Isaiah 44:17)
“Shall I bow down to a block of wood?… ‘Is not this thing in my right hand a lie?’” (Isaiah 44:19b, 20b)

A few Biblical principles for healing the limp…
•
– “So I say, live by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the sinful nature.” (Gal. 5:16)
•
– “For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men. It teaches us to say “No” to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age…” (Titus 2:11-12)
•
– “Direct my footsteps according to your word; let no sin rule over me.” (Psalm 119:133)
•
– “Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.” (Gal. 6:2)
But now He has reconciled you by Christ’s physical body through death to present you holy in His sight, without blemish and free from accusation. (Col. 1:22)
