When it comes to homosexuality, God’s Word is

, , & .

“Do not have sexual relations with a man as one does with a woman; that is detestable.” —Leviticus 18.22

“If a man has sexual relations with a man as one does with a woman, both of them have done what is detestable.” —Leviticus 20.13

“They called to Lot, ‘Where are the men who came to you tonight? Bring them out to us so that we can have sex with them.’ Lot went outside to meet them and shut the door behind him and said, ‘No, my friends. Don’t do this wicked thing.’” —Genesis 19.5-7

“While they were enjoying themselves, some of the wicked men of the city surrounded the house. Pounding on the door, they shouted to the old man who owned the house, ‘Bring out the man who came to your house so we can have sex with him.’ The owner of the house went outside and said to them, ‘No, my friends, don’t be so vile. Since this man is my guest, don’t do this outrageous thing.’” —Judges 19.22-23

“Or do you not know that wrongdoers will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor men who have sex with men nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.” —1st Corinthians 6.9-10

“We also know that the law is made not for the righteous but for…the unholy and irreligious, for those who kill their fathers or mothers, for murderers, for the sexually immoral, for those practicing homosexuality, for slave traders and liars and perjurers—and for whatever else is contrary to the sound doctrine that conforms to the gospel concerning the glory of the blessed God, which he entrusted to me.” —1st Timothy 1.9-11

Pederasty

“Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural sexual relations for unnatural ones. In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed shameful acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their error.” —Paul, Romans 1.26-27

didn’t participate in the practice of pederasty.

Paul is making a

argument, not a argument.

“Therefore, God gave them over in the sinful desires of their hearts to sexual impurity for the degrading of their bodies with one another. They exchanged the truth about God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator—who is forever praised.” —Romans 1.24-25

“You must be born again.” —Jesus, John 3.7

“Innateness doesn’t mean something is permissible, for being for a sinner doesn’t make sin right…It doesn’t matter whether you think you are born an alcoholic; you must be born again. It doesn’t matter if you think you were born a liar…if you think you were born a porn addict…if you were born with any other sexual sin struggle; you must be born again.” —Christopher Yuan, Holy Sexuality & the Gospel

“‘Haven’t you read,’ Jesus replied, ‘that at the beginning the Creator “made them male and female,” and said, “For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh”? So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate.’” —Jesus, Matthew 19.4-6

“The teachers of the law and the Pharisees brought in a woman caught in adultery. They made her stand before the group and said to Jesus, ‘Teacher, this woman was caught in the act of adultery. In the Law Moses commanded us to stone such women. Now what do you say?’ —John 8:3-5

They were using this question as a trap, in order to have a basis for accusing Him. But Jesus bent down and started to write on the ground with His finger. When they kept on questioning Him, He straightened up and said to them, ‘Let any one of you who is without sin be the first to throw a stone at her.’ —John 8.6-7

Again He stooped down and wrote on the ground. At this, those who heard began to go away one at a time, the older ones first, until only Jesus was left, with the woman still standing there. —John 8.8-9

Jesus straightened up and asked her, ‘Woman, where are they? Has no one condemned you?’ ‘No one, sir,’ she said. ‘Then neither do I condemn you,’ Jesus declared. ‘Go now and leave your life of sin.’” —John 8.10-11

Scripture teaches both a

and a .

Jesus models how we can both lead with

and stand on .
