It's Personal - No One Could Help Study Notes

MY STORY

-Have you ever been in a crowd and got separated from the people you were with? How did you react? What is your strategy to reunite?

SERIES SETUP

This series is based on stories from the book of Luke where people’s personal encounters with Jesus led to healing, relationship, and teachable moments.

-What is your story of how you initially encountered Jesus?

QUICK REVIEW
This weeks’ message is about a woman in the crowd that Jesus helped when no one else could help.

-Looking back on your notes from this week’s message, was there anything you heard that caught your attention, challenged, or confused you?

Read Luke 8:40-56 and look for examples of faith on display.

For the woman and Jairus both, Jesus was their last resort. Most of us would be offended to be someone’s last resort, but that didn’t keep Jesus from healing and loving them.

-Whether Jesus is your first resort or your last resort, He is always there. What has kept you from simply going to Jesus first?

DIGGING DEEPER
Jairus and the woman must have known about Jesus or they wouldn’t have been there. Jairus wouldn’t have asked Jesus to come to his house and the woman wouldn’t have touched his garment for healing if they hadn’t known about Him. But after their encounters with Him, they knew Jesus…had a relationship with Him.

-What is the difference between knowing about Jesus and knowing Jesus personally?

TAKING IT HOME
-If you never have, consider preparing a 3(ish) minute story of your personal encounter with Jesus.
