Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect. —Romans 12:2 ESV
4 Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant 5 or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; 6 it does not rejoice at wrongdoing but rejoices with the truth. 7 Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. —1 Corinthians 13;4-7 ESV

When Conflict Comes…

1. Remember who the

The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly. —John 10:10 ESV
Be sober minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. —1 Peter 5:9 ESV

2. Remember that relationships are not

26 Then God said, “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness”… 27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them. —Genesis 1:26-27 ESV
Then the Lord God said, “It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him a helper fit for him.” —Genesis 2:18 ESV
9 Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their toil. 10 For if they fall, one will lift up his fellow. But woe to him who is alone when he falls and has not another to lift him up! 11 Again, if two lie together, they keep warm, but how can one keep warm alone? 12 And though a man might prevail against one who is alone, two will withstand him—a threefold cord is not quickly broken. —Ecclesiastes 4:9-12 ESV
Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ. —Galatians 6:2 ESV

3. Remember that

speak louder than words

A soft answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger. —Proverbs 15:1 ESV
A hot-tempered man stirs up strife, but he who is slow to anger quiets contention. —Proverbs 15:18 ESV
Whoever keeps his mouth and his tongue keeps himself out of trouble. —Proverbs 21:23 ESV
19 Know this, my beloved brothers: let every person be quick to hear, slow to speak, slow to anger; 20 for the anger of man does not produce the righteousness of God. —James 1:19-20 ESV

4. Remember to

quickly

26 Be angry and do not sin; do not let the sun go down on your anger, 27 and give no opportunity to the devil. —Ephesians 4:26-27 ESV
Starting a quarrel is like opening a floodgate, so stop before a dispute breaks out. —Proverbs 17:14 NLT

5. Remember to always show

Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear. —Ephesians 4:29 ESV
Strive for peace with everyone, and for the holiness without which no one will see the Lord. 15 See to it that no one fails to obtain the grace of God; that no “root of bitterness” springs up and causes trouble, and by it many become defiled. —Hebrews 12:14-15 ESV
12 Put on then, as God’s chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience, 13 bearing with one another and, if one has a complaint against another, forgiving each other; as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive. —Colossians 3:12-13 ESV
