Psalm 37:4
Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart.
Psalm 119:35
Lead me in the path of your commandments, for I delight in it.
Psalm 1
Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers; but his delight is in the law of the LORD, and on his law he meditates day and night. He is like a tree planted by streams of water that yields its fruit in its season, and its leaf does not wither. In all that he does, he prospers. The wicked are not so, but are like chaff that the wind drives away. Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous; for the LORD knows the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked will perish.
Big Idea: There is nothing more beneficial than finding delight in God and his ways.
1. We can walk a spiritual path of death or life.
Matt 7:13-14
“Enter by the narrow gate. For the gate is wide and the way is easy that leads to destruction, and those who enter by it are many. For the gate is narrow and the way is hard that leads to life, and those who find it are few.”
2. Those who delight in God and his ways will enjoy life forever!
3. Pastor’s Challenge:
a. Increase your “delight in God.”
b. Maintain core relationships that encourage delight in God.
c. Ensure you are spiritually “alive” in Jesus Christ.
