Gateway’s leaders have sensed that God wants to

our church to more effectively minister in our homes, our church, our community and our world.

The brochure is literally only the tip of the iceberg of where we believe

is leading us in the next three years.

GROW

You say you have faith, for you believe that there is one God. Good for you! Even the demons believe this, and they tremble in terror. —James 2:19 (NLT)

The Bible is clear that it’s not just what we know but what we allow God to do

with what we know.

Since, then, we do not have the excuse of ignorance, everything — and I do mean everything — connected with that old way of life has to go. It’s rotten through and through. Get rid of it! And then take on an entirely new way of life — a God-fashioned life, a life renewed from the inside and working itself into your conduct as God accurately reproduces his character in you. —Ephesians 4:22-24 (Message)

God’s goal for you and me is a transformed life, a life that reflects the nature and character of

as revealed in Jesus Christ.

For God knew his people in advance, and he chose them to become like his Son, so that his Son would be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters. —Romans 8:29 (NLT)

God sent Jesus to not only show us the way but

the way for each one of us.

Jesus: … I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me. —John 14:6 (NLT)

Jesus: The Father and I are one. —John 10:30 (NLT)
Jesus: …Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father! … —John 14:9 (NLT)

…[Christ] is the exact likeness of God. —2 Corinthians 4:4 (NLT)

Christ is the visible image of the invisible God.… —Colossians 1:15 (NLT)

The Son radiates God’s own glory and expresses the very character of God…. —Hebrews 1:3 (NLT)

… [You were] created to be like God—truly righteous and holy. —Ephesians 4:24 (NLT)

This is the journey

human being was created for.

There are two parts to this journey of discipleship:

  1. We become more and more like

in terms of his character and love.

  2. We have to also take up Jesus’ mission, which was to lead others to also become like

    .

Jesus: For the Son of Man came to seek and save those who are lost. —Luke 19:10 (NLT)

am the church – it’s not a building or a place – it’s , the people!

So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ. —Ephesians 4:11-13 (NIV 11)
