Introduction:

It’s Super Vision Weekend 2022, the time when we pause and look towards the future and the direction that God is leading us for greater impact. We may be terrible at predicting the future, but we can pray and strive to create it. For the past seven years, we have been focused on repairing, rebuilding, and preparing for what God has NEXT for our church. The turnaround we have experienced is only by the hand of God. We have learned flexibility, dependency, and perseverance. Now it’s time to focus on what our impact will be over the next few years.

As we move into this new year there will be new opportunities. It is important that everyone at City United Church is involved and takes personal responsibility to see our God-given vision and mission accomplished. Our beliefs and behavior must be aligned.

OUR VISION: To see New England transformed by making disciples and planting churches to multiply the kingdom of God.

OUR MISSION: To lead people into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ, resulting in MORE disciples and churches.

“He was not able to do a miracle there, except that he laid his hands on a few sick people and healed them. 6And he was amazed at their unbelief. He was going around the villages teaching.” —Mark 6:4-5

Text: James 4:13-17 (CSB, New Testament)

Today’s Takeaway: Our dictates God’s blessing.

IV. EXECUTE – TAKING ACTION FOR EXPANDED MINISTRY

“What good is it, my brothers and sisters, if someone claims to have faith but does not have works? Can such faith save him? 15If a brother or sister is without clothes and lacks daily food 16and one of you says to them, “Go in peace, stay warm, and be well fed,” but you don’t give them what the body needs, what good is it? 17In the same way faith, if it doesn’t have works, is dead by itself. 18But someone will say, “You have faith, and I have works.” Show me your faith without works, and I will show you faith by my works.” —James 2:14-18
