Discussion Questions

Do you have a God-send (Timothy) in your life?
Share with the group about a time in your life when someone came along side of you and helped you grow in your faith. Were you in a crisis? Or was it because someone decided to love you in a deeper way that can only be explained by God’s wonderful plan for your life? How has a “God-send” helped transform your life?

How ESTABLISHED in the BIBLE are you?
Read these passages (Psalm 1:1-3; 37:31; 119:11,15,97,148; Joshua 1:8). Do you know God’s Word in such a way that you can recite from memory certain verses that help encourage you through a situation? When the enemy’s lies are whispered to you, what fills your mind?

Has your LOVE INCREASED over the years?
From the moment you became a Christian to right now, would you say that your love for others has expanded or shrunk? Discuss how it can be hard to love others when you have been hurt, betrayed, deceived, and damaged by various situations involving people. Has your love increased for those who are far from God? What practical action are you involved in that would prove your love (1 John 3:16-18)? Does this passage in 1 John describe your life accurately?

Do you BELIEVE that your TESTIMONY is POWERFUL?
We are told that we overcome the accuser (Satan) with our testimony (Rev 12:10-11). When you are tempted with sin or feel discouraged from a problem, have you ever spoken out loud about your redemption story? Go around the group and share your testimony now!

Is your life CENTERED upon Jesus Christ?
Meditate upon these two verses (Philippians 1:21; Galatians 2:20). Pray for God to help you realize that you have been crucified with Christ. Ask the Lord to show you how to live for Christ fully. What is one step you can take after praying that will move you closer to a centered life in Christ?
