Jesus Brings Rest
(1.) Living in a hurry adds more stress to our lives
“ 2 By the seventh day God had finished the work he had been doing; so on the seventh day he rested from all his work.” —Genesis 2:2
(2.) Living in a hurry steals our joy
(3.) Living in a hurry makes it difficult to hear from God
“ 18 Fix these words of mine in your hearts and minds; tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. 19 Teach them to your children, talking about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. 20 Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates, 21 so that your days and the days of your children may be many in the land that the Lord swore to give your forefathers…” —Deuteronomy 11:18-21
“ 28 Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” —Matthew 11:28-30
(1.) Jesus invites us to come into his rest
“ 29 He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. 30 Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; 31 but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength.” —Isaiah 40:29-31
“ 4 Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! 5 Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. 6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” —Philippians 4:4-7
(2.) Jesus invites us to take his hand and do life with him

“ 6 Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that He may lift you up in due time. 7 Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.” —1 Peter 5:6-7
(3.) Jesus invites us to learn from him and trust him
