
Colossians 3:18-4:1
As we have studied God’s Word in the Book of Colossians we have learned about our new identities in Christ (Col 3:1-4), which enable us to crucify the “old clothes” of our sinful thoughts, words and deeds (Col 3:5-11), and to put on the new garments of the fruit of the Holy Spirit. (Colossians 3:12-15). His Word then has informed us how to put on these divine attributes by allowing God’s Word to dwell richly in us. God’s powerful Word is to Live in us and to take deep Root in us (Col 3:16-17). Now in today’s text we to see how God’s powerful Word instructs us to live out of this new identity in the roles, responsibilities and structures of authority right where we live! (Col 3:18-4:1)
