22 “To this day I have had the help that comes from God, and so I stand here testifying both to small and great, saying nothing but what the prophets and Moses said would come to pass: 23 that the Christ must suffer and that, by being the first to rise from the dead, he would proclaim light both to our people and to the Gentiles.””

Going Deeper

Review Acts 25:1 – Acts 26:32

1a) In Acts 25 & 26 we see God yet again working behind the scenes to protect Paul’s life. In what ways have you sensed God working behind the scenes to either preserve your life or direct you path?

1b) How does God’s sovereignty give us confidence even when non-believers are in power and control? How can the sovereignty of God affect the decisions of our leaders?

2a) Read Acts 25:9-10. In what ways might God’s ‘delays’ be seen as opportunities for us?

2b) Does trusting God mean that we do nothing in difficult circumstances? What should we be doing while putting our hope in God?

3a) Read Acts 26:9-18. How does God use various circumstances in our lives to bring us to Christ?

3b) List five verses that believers can turn to when we are faced with persecution and our faith is under fire. Commit one of these verses to memory this week.
