themselves.
What sets biblical signs apart from the signs of daily life is that biblical signs direct us to truths.

Target of Signs:

John 20:30 (ESV) Now Jesus did many other signs in the presence of the disciples, which are not written in this book;

Purpose of Signs:
For the witnesses to

John 20:31 (ESV) but these are written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name.

John 2:1-5 (ESV) On the third day there was a wedding at Cana in Galilee, and the mother of Jesus was there. Jesus also was invited to the wedding with his disciples. My hour has not yet come.” His mother said to the servants, “Do whatever he tells you.”
