Knowing the Will of God
“To know the will of God is the greatest knowledge, to find the will of God is the greatest discovery, to do the will of God is the greatest achievement.” —Anonymous
How can I know God’s will for my life?
Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, —Romans 12:1a (NIV)
We can’t talk about God’s will for our lives until we acknowledge the Son’s sacrifice that gave us life!
Do offer!
offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. —Romans 12:1b (NIV)
It is obvious what kind of life develops out of trying to get your own way all the time: repetitive, loveless, cheap sex; a stinking accumulation of mental and emotional garbage; frenzied and joyless grabs for happiness; trinket gods; magic-show religion; paranoid loneliness; cutthroat competition; all-consuming-yet-never-satisfied wants; a brutal temper; an impotence to love or be loved; divided homes and divided lives; small-minded and lopsided pursuits; the vicious habit of depersonalizing everyone into a rival; uncontrolled and uncontrollable addictions; ugly parodies of community. —Galatians 5:19-21 (The Message)
Do not conform to the pattern of this world —Romans 12:2 (NIV)
Don’t conform!
The New Living Translations says, “Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world.”
For this world is not our permanent home; we are looking forward to a home yet to come. —Hebrews 13:14
When the believer acts no different than the unbeliever, they share appearance in the world and blindness in their walk!
Do Transform!
Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will. —Romans 12:2(NIV)
“To know the will of God is the greatest knowledge, to find the will of God is the greatest discovery, to do the will of God is the greatest achievement.” —Anonymous
