“A Pure and Undefiled Reflection”
Jason Johnson, Guest Speaker for HopeNWA Weekend

Galatians 4:4-7

Our past

Our present

Our future

groupquestions_bar.jpg

1) Read Galatians 4:4-7. What is the significance of the word adoption? What does it mean to receive adoption as sons and daughters?

2) Read John 1:14. Put it in your own words. He sees us and is coming after us!

3) How did Jason define compassion? Refer to the quote by Henri Nouwen. “Compassion is not a bending toward the underprivileged from a privileged position; it is not a reaching out from on high to those who are less fortunate below; it is not a gesture of sympathy or pity for those who fail to make it in the upward pull. On the contrary, compassion means going directly to those people and places where suffering is most acute and building a home there.”

4) God sees hard places and broken people and moves towards them, not away from them. How have you seen this principle lived out in your life?

5) When we become sons and daughters of God, what does that mean for our past? Our present? Our future?

6) Read Romans 12:4-6. What does it say about how the body of Christ is supposed to function?

7) “We’re not all called to do the same thing, but we are all created to do something. Everyone can do something! What is your “something?”
