Discussion Questions

What are some areas of life you may currently be experiencing dissatisfaction? What do you think is the source of that dissatisfaction?

Dissatisfaction can direct us to what we’re craving in life, but we must be careful, because cravings can be confusing. Tell about a time where you’ve expereinced how confusing cravings can be.

Have you ever purchased something or maybe pursued a relationship in an attempt to satisfy a craving, only to discover what you thought you wanted didn’t satisfy? Why do you think that was?

Cravings can lead us to dangerous and destructive places if we aren’t careful. That’s because if we turn to sin to seek satisfaction, we become enslaved by it. Have you ever experienced a craving becoming enslaving in your life? Explain.

Read John 6:22-35. Also, John 4:7-14. As you read, discuss what you notice about Jesus’ offer of satisfaction to the hungry and thirsty. Also, note the difference in the people’s response in John 7 compared to the woman in John 4.

Read Isaiah 55:1-2. What feelings and emotions are present as you read that incredible offer from God?
