The Power of God’s Anointing
Part of By My Spirit
May 15, 2022

Zechariah 4:6 -
*Then he said to me, “This is the word of the Lord to Zerubabel: Not by might, nor by power, but by my Spirit, says the Lord of hosts.
*

It’s normal to admire people’s gifts callings.

The truth is all of us were given talents and destinies by God.

Psalm 139:13-14 -
For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb.
I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.

Psalm 139:16 -
Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.

The main question is not, “Where is all the talent?”

The main question is, “Are we willing to set-apart our gifts and calls to be used to glorify God and do the work of His Kingdom?”

Romans 11:29 (KJV) -
*For the gifts and calling of God are without repentance. *

Translation: God doesn’t withdraw his gifts from people if they choose not to follow him and use those gifts for his glory.

Don’t confuse the power of a gift with the power of God’s anointing.

The anointing of God simply means that the Holy Spirit is the power-source and influencer of what God has gifted and called us to.

In the Old and New Testaments, oil was used to represent the anointing of God.

1 Samuel 16:13 -
Then Samuel took the horn of oil and anointed David in the midst of his brothers. And the Spirit of the Lord rushed upon David from that day forward.

Anointing - Hebrew word is MASHACH - “to pour on in an act of being set-apart and consecrated for God’s service and chosen by him. To be anointed was to be authorized and sent by God himself.

From this word is derived MESSIAH (who we call Jesus) meaning “the conclusive and ultimate one whom God authorized and sent and with whom his Spirit dwelt.”

Matthew 3:11 -
I baptize you with water for repentance, but he who is coming after me is mightier than I (being fully aware that Jesus is the conclusive and ultimate Messiah whom God was authorizing), whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and with fire.

When we repent, Jesus comes to fully immerse us in the anointing of the Holy Spirit.

Acts 1:4 -5 -
*And wile Jesus stayed with them he ordered them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for the promise of the Father, which, he said,”you heard from me; for John baptized with water, but you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now. *

Acts 1:8 -
You will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.

Power - greek word is “DYNAMIS” (where we get our word for dynamite)
Power for performing miracles (God’s power to back up our confessions with healing and deliverance from bondage.)

Moral power and excellence of soul (God’s power transforming our inward nature to be like Him.)
The power of influence and authority (God’s favor resting on our lives)

Matthew 10:7-8 -
Proclaim as you go, saying, “The kingdom of heaven is at hand. Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse lepers, cast out demons. You received without paying; give without pay.

We not only share the gospel but people experience the gospel through healing and deliverance.
No matter what we do we are anointed to carry the authority of Jesus, and that authority is not over people, it’s over darkness, to put an end to the bondage and sickness the enemy holds people under.
