Day 18 | January 19th

Ruth 4

When you study the book of Ruth, you will find a story of redemption. A story in history that prepares us for our future, our own redemption through Jesus Christ, through the lineage of Boaz and Ruth.

Most of us have experienced the loss of a loved one, which we know is heartbreaking. Naomi also lost her husband and her two sons, one being the husband of Ruth. Through this, Ruth chose to return to Judah with her mother-in-;aw to care for her, Ruth 1:16. They had arrived in Behtlehem in the late spring during the harvest season. During this time Ruth gleaned from Boaz’s field and found favor in his sight to later become married and God blessed them with a son named, Obed, who then bore a son, Jesse, Jesse bore Dave, and the way to the birth of Jesus; (Ruth 4:13 & Matthew 1:5) As we are hope less without the redemption of Christ, Ruth was hopeless without the redemption through Boaz. As Ruth remained faithful and trusted God, in what ways can we do the same and trust Jesus with our forever in eternity, daily?
