SEEKING THE SECRET PLACE: CHRIST FORMED IN ME

But seek first the kingdom of God
and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. —Matthew 6:33

6  Is this not the fast that I have chosen: to loose the bonds of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, to let the oppressed go free, and that you break every yoke?
7  Is it not to share your bread with the hungry, and that you bring to your house the poor who are cast out; when you see the naked, that you cover him, and not hide yourself from your own flesh?
8  Then your light shall break forth like the morning, your healing shall spring forth speedily, and your righteousness shall go before you; The glory of the Lord shall be your rear guard.
9 Then you shall call, and the Lord will answer; you shall cry, and He will say, ‘Here I am.’ “If you take away the yoke from your midst, The pointing of the finger, and speaking wickedness,
10  If you extend your soul to the hungry and satisfy the afflicted soul, then your light shall dawn in the darkness, and your darkness shall be as the noonday.
11  The Lord will guide you continually, and satisfy your soul in drought, and strengthen your bones; You shall be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters do not fail.
12  Those from among you shall build the old waste places… —Isaiah 58:6 - 12a

In The Secret Place, my thirst is changed.

Blessed are those who hunger
and thirst for righteousness,for they shall be filled. —Matthew 5:6

In The Secret Place, I experience a deluge of Living Water.

37  On the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out, saying, “If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink.
38  He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.” 
39  But this He spoke concerning the Spirit, whom those believing in Him would receive; for the Holy Spirit was not yet given, because Jesus was not yet glorified. —John 7:37 - 39

Then he brought me back to the door of the temple; and there was water, flowing from under the threshold of the temple toward the east, for the front of the temple faced east; the water was flowing from under the right side of the temple, south of the altar. —Ezekiel 47:1

3  And when the man went out to the east with the line in his hand, he measured one thousand cubits, and he brought me through the waters; the water came up to my ankles. 
4  Again he measured one thousand and brought me through the waters; the water came up to my knees. Again he measured one thousand and brought me through; the water came up to my waist. 
5  Again he measured one thousand, and it was a river that I could not cross; for the water was too deep, water in which one must swim, a river that could not be crossed. —Ezekiel 47:3 - 5

1. In The Secret Place, I become a healer for the hurting.

The Lord will guide you continually, and satisfy your soul in drought, and strengthen your bones; You shall be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters do not fail. —Isaiah 58:11

6  He said to me, “Son of man, have you seen this?” Then he brought me and returned me to the bank of the river.
7  When I returned, there, along the bank of the river, were very many trees on one side and the other. 
8  Then he said to me: “This water flows toward the eastern region, goes down into the valley, and enters the sea. When it reaches the sea, its waters are healed.
9  And it shall be that every living thing that moves, wherever the rivers go, will live. There will be a very great multitude of fish, because these waters go there; for they will be healed, and everything will live wherever the river goes. —Ezekiel 47:6 - 9

Along the bank of the river, on this side and that, will grow all kinds of trees used for food; their leaves will not wither, and their fruit will not fail. They will bear fruit every month, because their water flows from the sanctuary. Their fruit will be for food, and their leaves for medicine. —Ezekiel 47:12

But He was wounded for our transgressions,He was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement for our peace was upon Him,and by His stripes we are healed. —Isaiah 53:5

18  “The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, because He has anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed;
19  To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord.” —Luke 4:18 - 19

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away;
behold, all things have become new. —2 Corinthians 5:17

2. In The Secret Place, I become a harvest for the hungry.

22  But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness faithfulness, 
23  gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law. —Galatians 5:22 - 23

3. In the Secret Place, I become hope for the hopeless.

But its swamps and marshes will not be healed; they will be given over to salt. —Ezekiel 47:11

20  Then Elisha died, and they buried him. And the raiding bands from Moab invaded the land in the spring of the year.
 21 So it was, as they were burying a man, that suddenly they spied a band of raiders; and they put the man in the tomb of Elisha; and when the man was let down and touched the bones of Elisha, he revived and stood on his feet. —2 Kings 13:20 - 21

And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death. —Revelation 12:11
