“The Cradle with a View of the Cross”
Isaiah 53:1-12
Christmas: Through the Lens of Isaiah
A remarkable gift can arrive in an unremarkable package. When it came to the Messiah, no one expected God to come to earth the way He did. And no one expected His plan to take Him from the Cradle to the Cross. When we look at the birth of Jesus, we must see the Cradle with a view of the cross.
Isaiah 53 focuses Isaiah’s lens on the reason Jesus came to earth. This truth adds to our reasons for celebrating Christ this Christmas Season.
Memory Verse: “But He was pierced for our transgressions, He was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on Him, and by His wounds we are healed.”
(Isaiah 53:5 NIV)
