Day 121 - The Proof of God

Paulette Baker

“Faith shows the reality of what we hope for; it is the evidence of things we cannot see.” - Hebrews 11:1 NLT

This month is all about increasing in faith. Hebrews 11:1 says faith, or pistis in Greek, is the “evidence” or proof of what we cannot see. Faith is the “conviction that God exists and is the creator and ruler of all things,” even if we cannot physically see Him.

“Proof” is evidence that something is or exists. On Earth, there are different ways we show proof that something exists or is authentic. Official documents like birth certificates, driver’s licenses, or passports determine the authentication of who we are and our authority, even our own identity. Proof can also come from experiences, either our own experiences or others’ experiences.

Throughout this week, we will discuss the proof of God and His identity. Again, while we may not be able to see Him, we have faith that is the evidence of God! As we increase in faith, we build our trust in who God is and what He does.

Next Steps

  • Think about it: How would you describe “faith” to someone?

  • Think about it: How is your faith the evidence of God’s existence?

  • Action Step: Write down all the items that are proof of who you are. Consider mentioning your history, family, interests, etc.
