DISCUSS
1. What is mercy?
2. Do you feel like you or someone you know is outside the reach of God’s mercy? If so, how does Ahab’s story reveal God’s nature and character in an encouraging way?
3. Are you glad that God is not selective in dispensing mercy? Are there challenges that come with the generosity with which God shows mercy?
4. Can you think of examples of how the “kings of this world” are selective in how they show mercy?
5. Where do you need God’s mercy in your life? What will it look like and feel like for you to receive and experience God’s mercy?
6. Do you believe that God can be merciful in your life? Why or why not?

Lord, thank you for your abundant and generous mercy. May we see that your mercy is available even to us, and may we receive what you are offering.
