Welcome

Thank you for joining us!

We have a great service planned, so let’s worship together!

Glorious Day

Artist: Passion

I was buried beneath my shame
Who could carry that kind of weight
It was my tomb
Till I met You

I was breathing, but not alive
All my failures I tried to hide
It was my tomb, yeah
Till I met You

You called my name
And I ran out of that grave
Out of the darkness
Into Your glorious day

You called my name
And I ran out of that grave
Out of the darkness
Into Your glorious day

Now Your mercy has saved my soul
Now Your freedom is all that I know
The old made new
Jesus, when I met You

When You called my name
And I ran out of that grave
Out of the darkness
Into Your glorious day

You called my name
And I ran out of that grave
Out of the darkness
Into Your glorious day

I needed rescue
My sin was heavy
But chains break at the weight of Your glory

I needed shelter
I was an orphan
Now You call me a citizen of heaven

When I was broken
You were my healing
Now Your love is the air that I’m breathing
I have a future
My eyes are open

‘Cause when You called my name
I ran out of that grave
Out of the darkness
Into Your glorious day

You called my name
And I ran out of that grave
Out of the darkness
Into Your glorious day

King of My Heart

Artist: Bethel Music

Let the King of my heart
Be the mountain where I run
The fountain I drink from
Oh, He is my song

Let the King of my heart
Be the shadow where I hide
The ransom for my life
Oh, He is my song

You are good, good, oh…

Let the King of my heart
Be the wind inside my sails
The anchor in the waves
Oh, He is my song

Let the King of my heart
Be the fire inside my veins
The echo of my days
Oh, He is my song

You are good, good, oh…

You’re never gonna let
You’re never gonna let me down

You are good, good, oh…

Men: You are good, good, oh…
Ladies: You’re never gonna let, never gonna let me down…

Who You Say I Am

Artist: Hillsong Worship

Who am I that the highest King would welcome me?
I was lost, but He brought me in
Oh His love for me
Oh His love for me

Who the Son sets free
Oh, is free indeed
I’m a child of God, yes, I am

Free at last, He has ransomed me
His grace runs deep
While I was a slave to sin, Jesus died for me
Yes, He died for me

Who the Son sets free
Oh is free indeed
I’m a child of God, yes, I am

In my Father’s house
There’s a place for me
I’m a child of God, yes, I am

I am chosen, not forsaken
I am who You say I am
You are for me, not against me
I am who You say I am

I am chosen, not forsaken
I am who You say I am
You are for me, not against me
I am who You say I am
I am who You say I am

Who the Son sets free
Oh is free indeed
I’m a child of God, yes, I am

In my Father’s house
There’s a place for me
I’m a child of God, yes, I am

In my Father’s house
There’s a place for me
I’m a child of God, yes, I am

To You

Artist: Michael Himes

To you,
please let me come.
I’m tired and cold
from all my running
Today I need to be with you.

To you I’ll give my will,
a tempest strong your peace can still.
Today, I’ll give it up for you.

Let me drink of your love.
Let me shine like the angels above me singing,
Glory to You.

To you, I want to fall…
from this world into your arms.
Today I want to fall for you.

Let me drink of your love.
Let me shine like the angels above me singing,
Glory to You.

To you I’ll give these things.
My heart and soul my mind and strength.
Today I’ll give it all to you.

To you.
To you.

Today

Prayer

Please take this time to be still and pray with us.

Scripture Focus & Notes

Matthew 5:21-30 (HCSB)

“You have heard that it was said to our ancestors, Do not murder, and whoever murders will be subject to judgment. But I tell you, everyone who is angry with his brother will be subject to judgment. And whoever says to his brother, ‘Fool!’ will be subject to the Sanhedrin. But whoever says, ‘You moron!’ will be subject to hellfire. So if you are offering your gift on the altar, and there you remember that your brother has something against you, leave your gift there in front of the altar. First go and be reconciled with your brother, and then come and offer your gift. Reach a settlement quickly with your adversary while you’re on the way with him, or your adversary will hand you over to the judge, the judge to the officer, and you will be thrown into prison. I assure you: You will never get out of there until you have paid the last penny!

“You have heard that it was said, Do not commit adultery. But I tell you, everyone who looks at a woman to lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart. If your right eye causes you to sin, gouge it out and throw it away. For it is better that you lose one of the parts of your body than for your whole body to be thrown into hell. And if your right hand causes you to sin, cut it off and throw it away. For it is better that you lose one of the parts of your body than for your whole body to go into hell!

Wait…What…It Starts in the Heart?

Desire life, not loss for people (21-22)
• In scripture, Jesus often pits “You have heard” against “But I say.” Choose to listen to what He says!
• For Jesus, it’s often more about attitude than action because he knows that if we can address wrong attitudes, we can stop wrong actions.
• We must bring dignity to people, not steal it from them through our attitudes and actions.

Seek to reconcile, not reject people (23-26)
• God cares more about the giver’s intent than the gift they bring.
• We must prioritize reconciliation in a world where people are too easily rejected.
• The next time you try to write someone off, realize that God never does.

Add value & don’t cheapen people. (Lust) (27-29)
• Lust devalues and opposes the call to love, which affirms and adds value.
• We must cut off the source of sin, which starts in our corrupted hearts.
• It is wise to remove the stumbling blocks that cause us to stumble.

O Come to the Altar

Artist: Elevation Worship

Are you hurting and broken within?
Overwhelmed by the weight of your sin?
Jesus is calling

Have you come to the end of yourself
Do you thirst for a drink from the well?
Jesus is calling

O come to the altar
The Father’s arms are open wide
Forgiveness was bought with
The precious blood of Jesus Christ

Leave behind your regrets and mistakes
Come today there’s no reason to wait
Jesus is calling

Bring your sorrows and trade them for joy
From the ashes a new life is born
Jesus is calling

O come to the altar
The Father’s arms are open wide
Forgiveness was bought with
The precious blood of Jesus Christ

O come to the altar
The Father’s arms are open wide
Forgiveness was bought with
The precious blood of Jesus Christ

Oh, what a Savior
Isn’t He wonderful?
Sing Hallelujah, Christ is risen

Bow down before Him
For He is Lord of all
Sing Hallelujah, Christ is risen

Oh what a Savior
Isn’t He wonderful?
Sing Hallelujah, Christ is risen

Bow down before Him
For He is Lord of all
Sing Hallelujah, Christ is risen

O come to the altar
The Father’s arms are open wide
Forgiveness was bought with
The precious blood of Jesus Christ

O come to the altar
The Father’s arms are open wide
Forgiveness was bought with
The precious blood of Jesus Christ
