Loving Your Neighbor

The Story of the Good Samaritan (Luke 10:25-37)

Anyone in need is your neighbor.

For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. —Ephesians 2:10

“Your faith isn’t the sum of all the things you agree with. It’s what you do with what you agree with. That’s where love is. ” —Bob Goff

Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth. —1 John 3:18

In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead. —James 2:17

For the entire law is fulfilled in keeping this one command: “Love your neighbor as yourself.” —Galatians 5:14

Takeaway: Ask God to give you eyes to see the needs around you, the wisdom to know what to do, and the courage to actually do it.

If you see someone in need and decide not to help them - what is the most likely reason why not?

How does the statement “Anyone in need is your neighbor” sit with you? Do you find yourself agreeing with it or feeling defensive?
