Ephesians 2:8-10

1) Spend some time sharing about motherly influencers in your life and their impact on you.

2) What is your gut reaction when you hear you have been made a saint?

3) What does it mean that God’s people ‘have been saved by grace” (Ephesians 2:8)? Define grace.

4) What does it mean to be “justified” before God and why can no one be justified by “observing the law”?

5) Read Ephesians 2:9. Paul again speaks about good works here. What does he say here in this verse? What is he so concerned about? What might people misunderstand about salvation?

6) Why might God want no one to be able to boast about what he has contributed to salvation?

7) Read Ephesians 2:10 again. Why is this order so important? Do you find in your life that identity precedes your actions? Or where do you get those things out of order?

8) Do you ever look to your good works to make you feel better? Do you ever look to your lack of good works to make you feel worse? How might you remind yourself (and each other) of the Gospel?
