Are you a committed member of your local church?
When the day of Pentecost arrived, they were all together in one place. And suddenly there came from heaven a sound like a mighty rushing wind, and it filled the entire house where they were sitting. And divided tongues as of fire appeared to them and rested on each one of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance. —Acts 2:1-4 (ESV)
And He gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the shepherds and teachers, to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ, … —Ephesians 4:11-12 (ESV)
Are you committed to creating an atmosphere—both corporately
and personally—which is conducive to the realities of this
“season”?
Are you a worshipper?
But the hour is coming, and is now here, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for the Father is seeking such people to worship him. —John 4:23 (ESV)
Are you regularly waiting on the Lord?
Have you not known? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He does not faint or grow weary; His understanding is unsearchable. He gives power to the faint, and to him who has no might He increases strength. Even youths shall faint and be weary, and young men shall fall exhausted; but they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint. —Isaiah 40:28-31 (ESV)
Are you in a dialogue or a monologue with God?
To Him the gatekeeper opens. The sheep hear His voice, and He calls His own sheep by name and leads them out. —John 10:3 (ESV)
God can communicate with you in one of these four ways:
1. Verses
But He answered, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.’” —Matthew 4:4 (ESV)
2. Viscerally
If I say, “I will not mention Him, or speak any more in His name,” thereis in my heart as it were a burning fire shut up in my bones, and I am weary with holding it in, and I cannot. —Jeremiah 20:9 (ESV)
3. Vocally
And after the earthquake a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire. And after the fire the sound of a low whisper. And when Elijah heard it, he wrapped his face in his cloak and went out and stood at the entrance of the cave. And behold, there came a voice to him and said, “What are you doing here, Elijah?” —1 Kings 19:12-13 (ESV)
4. Visually
Now there was a disciple at Damascus named Ananias. The Lord said to him in a vision,“Ananias.” And he said, “Here I am, Lord.” —Acts 9:10 (ESV)
Are you walking in the power and presence of the Holy Spirit? Are you
baptized in the Holy Spirit?
“And behold, I am sending the promise of My Father upon you. But stay in the city until you are clothed with power from on high.” —Luke 24:49 (ESV)
And he said to them, “Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed?” And they said, “No, we have not even heard that there is a Holy Spirit… And when Paul had laid his hands on them, the Holy Spirit came on them, and they began speaking in tongues and prophesying. —Acts 19:2,6 (ESV)
Are you grieving or quenching the Holy Spirit?
And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. —Ephesians 4:30 (ESV)
Do not quench the Spirit. Do not despise prophecies, but test everything; hold fast what is good. —1 Thessalonians 5:19-21 (ESV)
Are you building your life with God on Biblical habits, or are you
totally dependent on your spiritual habitat?
