How do we define “Manhood?”
1 Kings 2:1-3
When David’s time to die drew near, he commanded Solomon his son, saying, 2 “I am about to go the way of all the earth. Be strong, and show yourself a man, 3 and keep the charge of the Lord your God, walking in his ways and keeping his statutes, his commandments, his rules, and his testimonies, as it is written in the Law of Moses, that you may prosper in all that you do and wherever you turn.
1 Corinthians 16:13-14 ESV
Be watchful, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong. 14 Let all that you do be done in love.
4 Characteristics of Biblical Manhood:
1. Be Watchful
1 Corinthians 15:58 ESV
Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.
2. Stand Firm in the Faith
Psalms 31:24 ESV
Be strong and let your heart take courage, all you who wait for the Lord!
3. Be Strong & Courageous
1 Corinthians 14:20 ESV
Brothers, do not be children in your thinking. Be infants in evil, but in your thinking be mature.
Ephesians 4:14 ESV
…so that we may no longer be children, tossed to and fro by the waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by human cunning, by craftiness in deceitful schemes.
4. Love Well in ALL things
Colossians 3:18-19 ESV
Wives, submit to your husbands, as is fitting in the Lord. 19 Husbands, love your wives, and do not be harsh with them.
