21 Days of Prayer and Fasting
Day 11
For this reason I bow my knees before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named, that according to the riches of his glory he may grant you to be strengthened with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith—that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.
Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen. —Ephesians 3:20-21
Did you know… God’s love for us is measurable. He loves us enough to give us His power. Here’s a crazy thought… the SAME power that raised Jesus from the grave lives in us. Why don’t we use it, live it, and breathe it? Often, we get so carried away in the hustle and bustle of life that we forget about that power and that is usually when we need it the most.
The book of Ephesians was written by Paul to the Church at Ephesus. He was reminding them to stay unified in Christ. This passage is Paul’s prayer for the church. We can see that Paul prayed according to God’s will.
God wants us to be filled with His fullness and filled to capacity with Jesus. So many times, we are afraid to pray with open arms, scared of what may come if we give all control over to Jesus. He tells us in verse 20 something that is scary but also comforting… “Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine” … He can do anything through us. He can heal, set free, and deliver… through us. Why wouldn’t we want to take part in His goodness?
My challenge for you… walk through Walmart or throughout your day and pray for people. No need to stop them. Just pray and keep on walking. Pray for people to come in your path and to know their needs. Be in constant communication with Jesus. Prayer has power… a power that is more than we could ever imagine. He loves you so much… He wants that.
His love is:
WIDE enough to cover every person
LONG enough to last through all eternity
DEEP enough to reach the worst sinner
HIGH enough to take us to Heaven
