What is one of your favorite movies with the theme of finding something
that is lost?
When we watch a movie that shows lost things being found it seems to touch our hearts in a very special way. It seems that God has placed in our DNA to care about things that need to be found…especially if it is a dog or
cat. Why? We all know what it is like to feel like a lost puppy, and we also know what it feels like know that someone is looking for us and finds us. This truth is at the heart of the gospel and mission of Jesus Christ.
Read Luke 19:10. What does this share with us about the heart of God?
Read Matthew 19-20. How did Jesus describe his own mission while He was here on earth?
Where does Jesus tell us to go on this mission? What was the focus of Jesus when He shared this with his disciples and us today?
Read Romans 15:9-1. How does this verse say that we can part of making history? How was the Christian church the very first international movement? What kind of challenges might the church have faced with this focus?
Read Revelation 7:9. How did John know that there were people from every tribe and nation of the world? Have you ever had the opportunity to worship with people from another country or culture? If yes, then please share your experience.
Read 1 Peter 2:10. See how diverse your group is: Who was born in Georgia? United States of America? Speaks another Language? Share your journeys of coming to faith in Christ – How different are they?
What does Peter mean when he states that we are all now the people of God?
How does our faith in Jesus make all our differences work together for the mission of Jesus Christ?
