Message Notes:
John 14:25-27
25 “All this I have spoken while still with you. 26 But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you. 27 Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid. NIV
Main Idea:
The Holy Spirit is our teacher.
Our job is to remain in Him and remain teachable.
1. But The Advocate … Will Teach You All Things
John 16:7, 12-13
7 But I tell you the truth: it is to your advantage that I am leaving; for if I do not leave, the [e]Helper will not come to you; but if I go, I will send Him to you….Vs. 12 “I have many more things to say to you, but you cannot bear them at the present time. 13 But when He, the Spirit of truth, comes, He will guide you into all the truth; for He will not speak on His own, but whatever He hears, He will speak; and He will disclose to you what is to come. 14 He will glorify Me, for He will take from Mine and will disclose it to you. NASB
Jesus said the Holy Spirit will guide you into truth when you don’t understand.

How do we know we are hearing the Holy Spirit correctly?

John 16:33
I have told you these things so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.
IMPORTANT TO REMEMBER:
Being tested on what you have already learned is part of the teaching process:
Mark 1:12-13
12 At once God’s Spirit made Jesus go into the desert. 13 He stayed there for 40 days while Satan tested him. Jesus was with the wild animals, but angels took care of him. CEV
