1. Read Colossians 2:11; Romans 2:25-29; Romans 4:1-4

a. Circumcision is a sign of the covenant between God and Abraham and his descendants; what is the significance of Paul’s words to both the Colossian and Roman churches?

b. How does someone receive the “circumcision of Christ?” Discuss ways to explain this to a non-believer, or a new believer, should the discussion arise.

2. Read Colossians 2:12; Romans 6:1-4
a. Why is the truth of Colossians 2:12 and Romans 6:1-4 critical? How does this connect with the gospel?

3. Read Colossians 2:13-14
a. Discuss the importance of “having forgiven you all trespasses.” How can you utilize this truth in sharing the gospel with those within your life?

b. “Handwriting of requirement” is literally a ledger of debt that is owed. Discuss the significance of the totality of your sin debt being “wiped out” by the work of Christ. Who in your life needs to know this truth? Pray about how the Lord might use you to communicate this truth.

4. Read Colossians 2:15
a. Who are the “principalities and powers” that were made a “public spectacle?” Why would Paul (via the Holy Spirit add this verse? Why is it significant?
