SMALL GROUP QUESTIONS

WARM UP: Where is your favorite place to spend a little quiet time with God?

HEAD: These questions help us examine the Word.
1. Read 1 Kings 19:1-18. Why is Mount Horeb significant in the Bible? What events took place there that demonstrate God’s faithfulness?
2. How does Elijah’s experience on Mount Horeb differ from Moses’? What does this teach us about how God reveals Himself?
3. What was the significance of God not being in the fire, earthquake, or wind but in the still, small voice? How does this shift Elijah’s understanding of God’s work?

HEART: These questions help us wrestle with what we believe.
4. Elijah felt alone and defeated despite his faithfulness. Have you ever felt like God was silent or distant in your own challenges? How did you respond?
5. The sermon highlighted the contrast between big miracles and God’s quiet, unseen work through people. How does this perspective challenge or comfort you about how God might be working in your life?
6. How can remembering God’s past faithfulness encourage us when things don’t go as we expect?

HAND: These questions help us bring truth and beliefs into our everyday life.
7. Just as Elijah was called to pass the mantle of leadership, what is one way you can mentor or support someone in their faith this week?
8. How can you contribute to God’s quiet work in your community?
9. Spend time listening for God’s “still, small voice” this week. What steps can you take to create space for prayer, reflection, or scripture meditation?
