Those who depart from the image of God will follow a god created in their own image.

Romans 1:24-25
Therefore God also gave them up to uncleanness, in the lusts of their hearts, to dishonor their bodies among themselves, 25 who exchanged the truth of God for the lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen.

1 Thessalonians 4:3-5
For this is the will of God, your sanctification: that you should abstain from sexual immorality; that each of you should know how to possess his own vessel in sanctification and honor, not in passion of lust, like the Gentiles who do not know God.

Genesis 2:24
Institution of Marriage/Family
Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and they shall become one flesh.

Marriage is more than relation, it is reflection.

Ephesians 5:31-32
“For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh.” This is a great mystery, but I speak concerning Christ and the church.

Family is more than a social construction; it is a spiritual conception.

Ephesians 6:1-4
Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. ‘Honor your father and mother,’ which is the first commandment with promise: ‘that it may be well with you and you may live long on the earth.’ And you, fathers, do not provoke your children to wrath, but bring them up in the training and admonition of the Lord.

Integrity of Morals

Genesis 6:5
The Lord saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every intention of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.

Proverbs 14:34
Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people.

Removing God’s law from the state’s conscience breeds lawlessness.

Instructions of Governance

Genesis 9:6
Whoever sheds the blood of man, by man shall his blood be shed, for God made man in His own image.

Romans 13:1-7
Let every soul be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and the authorities that exist are appointed by God…

Christianity will survive without America, but America will not survive without Christianity.

Israel & God’s Plan

Genesis 12:3
I will bless those who bless you, and I will curse him who curses you; and in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.

If America abandons Israel, it will have abandoned itself.

The political zoo cannot shake you when it is a biblical view that shapes you.

Additional Scriptures Referenced: Romans 2:14-15; Romans 13:1-7

Discussion Questions:

  1. How do political ideologies—represented by the elephant and the donkey—struggle with keeping both the King and the Kingdom in balance? What is the Christian’s unique calling in relation to these ideologies? How can we guard ourselves against losing sight of the King (Jesus) in the noise of political divisions?

  2. Why do you think Lucifer seeks to “supplant what God plants”? How do we see this happening today?

  3. How should Christians respond when God’s moral law is removed from the public square? Can you think of examples where this has led to lawlessness?

  4. How does the biblical design for marriage and family reflect something deeper than just a social institution?

  5. Romans 13:1-7 teaches us to respect governing authorities. How do we balance this command with the need to stand for God’s law, especially when governments oppose biblical values? What role should the church play in shaping the moral conscience of a nation?

  6. How has God used Israel throughout history to bless the world? Why is Israel still significant in God’s plan today? Why is it important for Christians to understand and support God’s plan for Israel?

  7. How can focusing on the Lion (Christ’s boldness) and the Lamb (Christ’s sacrifice) help us remain steady amid political and cultural upheaval? What does it mean to let the blood of the Lamb shape our compassion and the boldness of the Lion strengthen our convictions?

  8. In a world filled with political noise, how can you practically allow your biblical view to shape you more than the political “zoo” around you?
