Restoration is a Process

The Illusion of Control

2 Corinthians 12:9
“Each time he said, ‘My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.’ So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me.” (NLT)

The Problem: Self-Sufficiency Runs Deep

Proverbs 16:18
“Pride goes before destruction, and haughtiness before a fall.” (NLT)

The Pattern of Scripture: Power in Brokenness

James 4:6–
“And he gives grace generously. As the Scriptures say, ‘God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.’” (NLT)

Why Admitting Powerlessness Is Spiritual Wisdom

Philippians 2:7-8 –
“Instead, he gave up his divine privileges…he humbled himself in obedience to God.” ( NLT)

Galatians 6:2
“Share each other’s burdens, and in this way obey the law of Christ.” (NLT)

The First Step to Lasting Change

Matthew 5:3
“God blesses those who are poor and realize their need for him, for the Kingdom of Heaven is theirs.” (NLT)

——
What Admitting Looks Like

Psalm 34:18
“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted; he rescues those whose spirits are crushed.” (NLT)
