Series Title: Advent
Sermon Title: Part 1 - Hope
Scripture: Luke 2:1-7
Speaker: Pastor Mark Pospisil
Sunday’s Message – Advent literally means “coming.” We celebrate the birth of Jesus, the Son of God, when He joined humanity . The Word became flesh and dwelt among us (John 1:14). We also await His future return when He will come back. We are living between two advents. With Christmas upon us, this season is first and foremost about Christ. He is the reason we live. We give gifts because God gave us the greatest gift, His Son, Jesus. This is why we slow down to remember Advent. This is a time to quiet our hearts during a hectic Christmas season and remember what it is all about. Patient waiting, adoring Jesus, intensifying our hope, and experiencing God’s great love. There are traditional four weeks of Advent and we will start with Hope. We remember the hope that Jesus gave us when He was born.
Weekly Fighter Verse – John 1:14 - “And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.”
