Jesus’ Teaching Holy Spirit
-John 14, John 15, John 16
Seven Spirits
-Isaiah 11:1 - 5
The Spirit of the Lord will rest on him—the Spirit of wisdom and of Spirit of understanding, the Spirit of counsel and of might, the Spirit of knowledge and the Spirit of the fear of the Lord. —Isaiah 11:2
God Eternal
15 The Son is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation.
16 For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him.
17 He is before all things, and in him all things hold together. —Colossians 1:15 - 17
God Sovereign
8 and put everything under their feet.” In putting everything under them, God left nothing that is not subject to them. Yet at present we do not see everything subject to them.
9 But we do see Jesus, who was made lower than the angels for a little while, now crowned with glory and honor because he suffered death, so that by the grace of God he might taste death for everyone.
10 In bringing many sons and daughters to glory, it was fitting that God, for whom and through whom everything exists, should make the pioneer of their salvation perfect through what he suffered.
11 Both the one who makes people holy and those who are made holy are of the same family. So Jesus is not ashamed to call them brothers and sisters. —Hebrews 2:8 - 11
God Omniscient
-Psalm 139:1 - 24
12 For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.
13 Nothing in all creation is hidden from God’s sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of him to whom we must give account. —Hebrews 4:12 - 13
HIS PRESENCE IS POWER.
Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord. —Acts 3:19
25 And a woman was there who had been subject to bleeding for twelve years.
26 She had suffered a great deal under the care of many doctors and had spent all she had, yet instead of getting better she grew worse.
27 When she heard about Jesus, she came up behind him in the crowd and touched his cloak,
28 because she thought, “If I just touch his clothes, I will be healed.”
29 Immediately her bleeding stopped and she felt in her body that she was freed from her suffering.
30 At once Jesus realized that power had gone out from him. He turned around in the crowd and asked, “Who touched my clothes?” —Mark 5:25 - 30The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word. After he had provided purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven. —Hebrews 1:3
Father God Spoke Forth Out of Power of His Presence
Therefore, every single person is a PROCEEDING WORD from the very
Mouth/Voice/Ruach of God from HIS HEART.
For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love. —Ephesians 1:4
Born of His LOVE, Image, and likeness.
We were never meant to be less than WHOLE.
Created for the FULLNESS of His Presence His Love.
We are His Creation.
For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. —Ephesians 2:10
His intent was that now, through the church, the manifold wisdom of God should be made known to the rulers and authorities in the heavenly realms, —Ephesians 3:10
Process
12 Therefore, my dear friends, as you have always obeyed—not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence—continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling,
—Philippians 2:12
Progress
12 Therefore, my dear friends, as you have always obeyed—not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence—continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling,
13 for it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill his good purpose. —Philippians 2:12 - 13
FOUR QUESTIONS
1) Are you desperate for God in your prayers?
2) How desperate are you for God in your prayers?
3)What areas, needs, desires are you desperate for God in your prayers?
EXPECTATIONS VS ANTICIPATION
-John 5:1 - 9
ANTICIPATION
6 When Jesus saw him lying there and learned that he had been in this condition for a long time, he asked him, “Do you want to get well?”
7 “Sir,” the invalid replied, “I have no one to help me into the pool when the water is stirred. While I am trying to get in, someone else goes down ahead of me.” —John 5:6 - 7
Fourth question:
4) What is in your heart, your life, that you are choosing to NOT be willing to be desperate for God in your prayers?!
