
INTRO: What is your favorite Christmas Carol? Why is it your favorite or describe a memory of singing/hearing that song?
READ: Luke 1:46-56, 1 Samuel 2:7-8
Begin the time by praying together.
DISCUSS
1. Magnificat: “my soul magnifies the Lord,” what would it look like to magnify the Lord so that others can have a bigger view of God?
2. Mary’s song was referred to as a “revolution of the soul:” when have you had a revolution of your soul?
3. “God has come for the seen and the unseen,” who have you seen differently in the last week? Who is often unseen in your world but you would like to show them they are seen? How?
4. “It is not the bottom to come up but for the top to be brought down,” how does this sit with you when you read Luke 2:52-55.
5. “Are you down with Jesus?” What does it look like to be “down” with Jesus?
6. Pastor Robert posed the question: “How do you know when you are low enough?” His answer was, “your soul magnifies the Lord.” Give an example of this in your life.
PRAYER: Lord, may we magnify you during this holiday season. Thank you for seeing us and giving us value. May we see the unseen the way that you see them.
