INTRODUCTION
You and I face circumstances that can challenge us. Transitions, tensions, and trials can bring pain and difficulty into our life. Without a solid foundation to face them, we will never be able to rise above them. The hope of Easter is what give us victory. Over 2,000 years ago, Jesus defeated death and rose from the grave. This same power that resurrected Jesus from the dead, is the same power that helps us rise up and live.
Let’s discover how this living power can transform our lives.
“With great power the apostles were giving testimony to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus, and great grace was on all of them.” —Acts 4:33
Text: Acts 4:32-35 (CSB, New Testament)
TODAY’S TAKEAWAY:
YOU CAN EXPERIENCE A NEW LIFE.
EASTER 2020:
RISE UP AND LIVE
5 truths that demonstrate the new life we can find in Jesus Christ.
I. WE HAVE A LIVING
“I have written these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life. This is the confidence we have before him: If we ask anything according to his will, he hears us.” —1 John 5:13-14
II. WE HAVE A LIVING
“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. Because of his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead and into an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, kept in heaven for you. You are being guarded by God’s power through faith for a salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time. You rejoice in this, even though now for a short time, if necessary, you suffer grief in various trials” —I Peter 1:3-6
III. WE HAVE A LIVING
“For you are saved by grace through faith, and this is not from yourselves; it is God’s gift — not from works, so that no one can boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared ahead of time for us to do. ” —Ephesians 2:8-10
IV. WE HAVE A LIVING
“Therefore we do not give up. Even though our outer person is being destroyed, our inner person is being renewed day by day. For our momentary light affliction is producing for us an absolutely incomparable eternal weight of glory. So we do not focus on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.” —2 Corinthians 4:16-18
“And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead lives in you, then he who raised Christ from the dead will also bring your mortal bodies to life through his Spirit who lives in you.” —Romans 8:11
V. WE HAVE A LIVING
The resurrection is essential to the Gospel.
“Now I want to make clear for you, brothers and sisters, the gospel I preached to you, which you received, on which you have taken your stand and by which you are being saved, if you hold to the message I preached to you — unless you believed in vain. For I passed on to you as most important what I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures,” —1 Corinthians 15:1-4
“For God loved the world in this way: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. Anyone who believes in him is not condemned, but anyone who does not believe is already condemned, because he has not believed in the name of the one and only Son of God.” —John 3:16-18
