Isaiah 43 - Written midway through the Babylonian exile.
Starting in ch. 40 and continuing to ch. 55, Isaiah, directed by the LORD, begins prophesying hope to His people who are slaves in Babylon.
Israel, being in bondage for years, and hundreds of miles from home - has lost all hope. Hearing these words of deliverance was like listening to a fairytale.
The distinctive phrase that makes all the difference in the world…
Isaiah 43:15 I am the LORD, (the existing one) your Holy One, (the Sanctified one) Israel’s Creator and King.
(16) I am the LORD, who opened a way through the waters, making a dry path through the sea.
(17) I called forth the mighty army of Egypt with all its chariots and horses. I drew them beneath the waves, and they drowned, their lives snuffed out like a smoldering candlewick.
We are connected to something bigger than this life. Even through the struggles of our past, we see God’s perfect plan that led us to God’s best for us.
18 “But forget all that—it is nothing compared to what I am going to do.”
No matter how great the victories or how terrible our failures of the past have been, God says, “forget all that?”
If remembering the past paralyzes you with hopelessness or fills you with pride, then forget it. Anything that keeps you from the expectation of a God-given future, forget it.
The I Am, says… “It’s nothing compared to what I am going to do.”
In your marriage…
In your finances…
In your family…
In your business…
In your spirit life…
In all that concerns you…
Nothing you’ve experienced will compare to what God is about to do in your life.
Let’s look at some of the pressures we’re facing right now.
1. Political challenges
2. World chaos
3. Financial uncertainty
In the middle of all this…Today! God’s word for us at The Bridge is “I’m about to do something new.”
“See, I have already begun! Do you see it?” – Because God knows His creation, He will give a confirming road sign you can discern. God wants you to see it!
“I will make a pathway through the wilderness.” - The “I AM” referenced the deliverance from Egypt in Isaiah 43:15 to qualify WHO is speaking. Your deliverance will be something similar, but different.
“I will create a river in the dry wasteland.” - A path of dry land was created through the Red Sea. Your deliverance will be a path of refreshing rivers of water through dry deserts.
Today is the day of relaunching. Don’t wait for someday. TODAY is YOUR day!
Change only happens when you are willing to change your established norm.
