Discussion Thread

Having completed the work he came to do, Jesus ascends back to heaven. Before doing so, he issues one command to his followers that is key to their ability to carry on his work.

1. Up to this point in your experience, how mindful have you been of the Holy Spirit and the significant role He has in your life?
2. Among the different roles that Jesus said the Holy Spirit would play in the lives of his followers, which is the one you need most and why (Counselor, indwelling presence, teacher, tutor, Spirit of truth, convict of sin, power to witness, or something else)?
3. Jesus issues commands to us, as He does here to his disciples in Acts 1. They were left with a clear choice to obey or not to obey. Is there a command that Jesus is specifically calling you to obey that you find challenging? Share it.
4. Using a scale of 1-10 (1 = low, 10 = high), what number would you use to define the degree to which you take time to listen to God?
5. Where do you need the power of the Holy Spirit (A relationship, a situation) to be a witness for Jesus?
