Getting to Know Me Questions:

• If you were an Olympian, in which sport would you wish to compete?

• Can you give an example of a time when you did something just because you felt God wanted you to, even though you really did not want to do it?

Into the Bible Questions:

• What’s something from this week’s teaching that you learned, that stood out, interesting etc?

• The big question for this week is “When something about life stinks, should I hang in or move on?” Talk about a time where you had to make this decision?

• Pastor Kirby gave us 4 questions to ask when deciding to fight or flight. Out of the 4 which one comes most naturally? Which one has been a struggle or something you haven’t done?

o What does God say?
o What do the facts say?
o What does wise counsel say?
o How will this decision impact others?

Q1: What Does God say?
READ: Psalm 59-61; Proverbs 3:5-7
• What sticks out to you in these readings?

Q2: What do the facts say?
READ: Proverbs 18:13, 17; Proverbs 13:16; Proverbs 19:2-3
• Can assumptions in decision making be helpful?

• How do we confuse assumptions with facts?

Q3: What does wise counsel say?
READ: Proverbs 15:22; Proverbs 19:20
• Pastor Kirby said that a wise person is someone with a track record of making wise decisions. When you think of the people in your life you go to, does that definition fit? If not, maybe it’s time to find other counsel.

Q4: How will this impact others?
Read: Philippians 2:3
• Our default decision making usually only involves ourselves. Why do you think we don’t consider others very often in our decisions?

Application Question:

• Take some time to review a decision you are currently wrestling with. Now, use the 4 guiding questions to help you in your process. Check back in with your group.
