Live a True Life: not fickle and flight
Jeremiah 1:5
“Before I shaped you in the womb, I knew all about you. Before you saw the light of day, I had holy plans for you: A prophet to the nations— that’s what I had in mind for you.”
1) God has given you a self, made in the image and likeness of God, God is the center from which all life develops)
2) God knew you before you knew you, long before we ever got around to asking questions about God, God had been questioning us.
3) God has a plan for your life, and he will help you fulfill it.
4) He has invited you to be a part of what he is doing.
5) You are a saint whether you know it or not, regardless of how well or poorly you have lived.
6) You were made to fly and the way we fly is when we are living at our best, gracefully and beautifully.
7) You have things to do and places to go. God has adventures for you to go on.
Jeremiah 12:5
“So, Jeremiah, if you’re worn out in this footrace with men, what makes you think you can race against horses? And if you can’t keep your wits during times of calm, what’s going to happen when troubles break loose like the Jordan in flood?”
1) We have an unquenchable thirst to be whole, developed, mature, wise.
2) We are disappointingly non-heroic and oh so human.
3) Life can be crushingly disappointing and difficult.
4) We were made to live an adventure and to do so requires resilency.
5) God’s story for you is completely original.
6) His creative genius is endless.
May we all be inspired by this God-given challenge. If we were made to run with horses, as this scripture implies, how can we live a life of faith and be more interested in fulfilling what was uniquely placed within us even before our birth to fulfill.
Let’s hold the paradox of both finding ourselves and become a fully developed self and thoroughly selfless
